I belong to Room 9 at Mairehau Primary School in Christchurch, New Zealand. Miss Jones is traveling to Japan to talk to others who have helped children recover from natural disasters and I'm going on the trip too :-)

More snow!
This is the view from my hotel room. It doesn't usually snow so much in Kesennuma, but there has been a lot of snow this week! It's so cold we need to wear lots of clothes to keep warm :-)
Breakfast
おはようございます、this is my yummy breakfast in the hotel. We have been very busy this week! Today we are meeting more people who work in schools in Japan. We have lots to share when we get home :-)

School Lunch
In Japan students eat lunch in their classroom. The students take turns to serve the food. After lunch they brush their teeth and then everyone helps clean the school. This class had 2 small fish, just like our class :-)
Ohya Elementary School
Miss Jones and I had lunch at Ohya Elementary School today. We visited a 6th Grade classroom. The students are all excited because they are starting Junior High School in April.

Asakusa Temple in the snow
This morning we visited Asakusa Temple in Tokyo before going to the train station. It was beautiful in the snow but very cold! There were many school children on school trips visiting the shrine.
It's snowing!!
おはようございます、good morning! It's snowing in Tokyo today. We are going to catch the しんかせん (Shinkansen) train to Kesennuma today. We are going north, so there is going to be even more snow! I'll take some photos from the train. Hope you are all having a good time in Room 9 :-)

Visiting the Minustry of Foreign Affairs
This is on the bus on the way to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Miss Jones has to do a speech in front of a Japanese politician so she is a bit nervous! The trees on the right are on the edge of the Imperial Palace. Only 2 people live there, the emperor and empress of Japan. It's very cold here today!
Meetings
Miss Jones and I in the hotel meeting room. We have spent a lot of time in here listening to professors talk about how people can work together after a natural disaster. There are 27 people here from many different countries.
