I belong to Room 9 at Mairehau Primary School in Christchurch, New Zealand. Miss Jones is traveling to Japan to talk to others who have helped children recover from natural disasters and I'm going on the trip too :-)

Futons
Sleeping on futons is very comfortable. While you are out eating dinner, the hotel staff put out all the futons for you! It is snowing heavily today....

More snow!
This is the view from my hotel room. It doesn't usually snow so much in Kesennuma, but there has been a lot of snow this week! It's so cold we need to wear lots of clothes to keep warm :-)
Breakfast
おはようございます、this is my yummy breakfast in the hotel. We have been very busy this week! Today we are meeting more people who work in schools in Japan. We have lots to share when we get home :-)

School Lunch
In Japan students eat lunch in their classroom. The students take turns to serve the food. After lunch they brush their teeth and then everyone helps clean the school. This class had 2 small fish, just like our class :-)
Ohya Elementary School
Miss Jones and I had lunch at Ohya Elementary School today. We visited a 6th Grade classroom. The students are all excited because they are starting Junior High School in April.
