I belong to Room 9 at Mairehau Primary School in Christchurch, New Zealand. Miss Jones is traveling to Japan to talk to others who have helped children recover from natural disasters and I'm going on the trip too :-)

Ohya Elementary School
Miss Jones and I had lunch at Ohya Elementary School today. We visited a 6th Grade classroom. The students are all excited because they are starting Junior High School in April.
I just came across your site. I worked at Ohya Elementary until this past July as their assistant English teacher. Glad you got to visit! The 6th grade is a large class and Nobuko sensei is a great teacher. Did they ask you some questions? Such great kids. It looks like you maybe had the hinamatsuri lunch!
Hi Patty, sorry about the delay! We had a fantastic day at Ohya Elementary School :-) It was lovely to spend some time in the classes. The 6th grade class were very boisterous and tried out some English sentences. The lunch was good, we visited on the right day :-)
